Christ Jesus Transforms Us to be Authentic: The Miracle of Salvation Through Christ Jesus

The Miracle of Salvation The Bible teaches that the entire plan of salvation is a miracle and a mystery in many ways. “Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began” (Romans 16:25):

1. It is a mystery that God Almighty could love sinners: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 also Romans 5:8).

2. It is a mystery that God’s infinite wisdom could devise a plan whereby mercy might be combined with justice (Psalms 85:10; Romans 6:23).

3. It is a mystery that the Son of God would become a man born by a virgin (John 1:14; Philippians 2:7; Galatians 4:4).

4. It is a miracle that Jesus resurrected from the dead and conquered the grave (Luke 24; Revelation 1:8; 1 Corinthians 15:20-23).

5. It is a miracle that man, who is naturally at enmity with God (Romans 8:7), can live at peace with His Creator through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 5:1).

Christ Jesus Transforms Us to be Authentic: Do Not Fear

Fear can creep up on us when we least expect it. Things like watching a loved one go through cancer treatment, or the potential of losing a job, having a miscarriage, or getting into a car accident. Unfortunately, there isn’t a limit to what our brains can create that is potentially fearful, some of it legitimate and some of it irrational. Either way, we can find hope and an anchor in the storm that is our fear in Jesus because he has a lot to say about fear in scripture. “Fear not…” is a common reminder in the Word, because we are often forgetful and we can try to imagine the future before it has even happened…leading to a lot of fear and anxiety. Jesus reminds us that we can trust God as our good Father. He will fight for us. He will cover us and protect us.

Be Courageous What does the Bible say about courage? In scripture, courage is also referred to as “good cheer” which means boldness and confidence. God commands us to fear not, to be of good cheer, and to have courage in our life. Sometimes we doubt our own strength and conviction but can turn to scripture for the encouragement to live in good cheer and trust in God.

Christ Jesus Transforms Us to be Authentic: Jesus Christ Crucified

The Prince of Peace

The crucifixion of Jesus is recorded in the New Testament books, known as the Gospels – Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. This Bible story is the central summary of the saving Gospel of Jesus. Jesus had prophesied of his death in Matthew “from that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.” Jesus understood that his life would be required as a sacrifice for the sins of man.
