LIFE COACHING SESSIONS

LESSON POINTS

Walk in the Spirit: Weaponized

Dr. Jerry Papalii teaches about using the word of God to equip ourselves as instruments of righteousness.

Weaponized

Adapted for use as a weapon.

Hoplon

1. Any tool or implement for preparing a thing a. Arms used in warfare, weapons

2. An instrument

Romans 6:13 English Standard Version (ESV)

13 Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness.

Acts 19:15 English Standard Version (ESV)

15 But the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I recognize, but who are you?”

Weapons of Warfare

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 ESV

For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,

1 Peter 5:8 ESV

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

Ephesians 6:12 ESV

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

Ephesians 6:10-12

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

2 Corinthians 10:5 ESV

We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,

James 4:4 ESV

You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

2 Corinthians 2:11 ESV

So that we would not be outwitted by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his designs.

James 4:7 ESV

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

1 John 2:15-17 ESV

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.

Hebrews 4:12 ESV

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Philippians 4:8 ESV

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

1 John 3:9 ESV

No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him, and he cannot keep on sinning because he has been born of God.

1 Corinthians 15:45 ESV

Thus it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam became a life-giving spirit.

Romans 8:13 ESV

For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

LIFE COACHING SESSIONS

LESSON POINTS

Walk in the Spirit: Obedience

Obedience

Hupakouo

1. To listen, to harken a. Of one who on the knock at the door comes to listen who it is

2. To harken to a command

a. To obey, be obedient to, submit to

Romans 5:19 English Standard Version (ESV) 19 For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous.

1. Obedience to God’s commands is the true sign of your love for God, and the only way you can know if you are obeying God is by knowing his Word.

2. 2 Cor 3:18 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.

3. The first “glory” is that of the Old Covenant—the Law of Moses—while the second is that of the New Covenant, the gospel of Jesus Christ.

4. The transformation is to the glory of the New Covenant, which far surpasses the Old in every way. It forgives us of our sin and gives us sinners life (John 6:63). It is written on believers’ hearts by the Holy Spirit (Jeremiah 31:33; 2 Corinthians 3:3), so our obedience to God springs up from within us by God-given desires rather than by threats of legal punishment.

LESSON POINTS

Walk in the Spirit: Spiritual Conditioning

Dr. Jerry Papalii teaches about conditioning our spirit through God’s word to become weapons of righteousness. Spiritual Conditioning (Please also check out my new website: papaliilifecoach.com) 5 Ways You Can Walk in the Spirit To walk in the Spirit is to:

1. Walk by (how to do something) the Spirit.

Galatians 5:16-25 ESV But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.

But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions. Spiritual conditioning to make Changes that Last.

Old Life (led by the flesh)

New Life (by the Spirit)

Triggers Usual response/behavior

Take the thought captive, using scripture Ideal response/behavior negative, evil, sinful, carnal thoughts, lust, sexual desires, hate, jealousy.

Ephesians 5:8 ESV For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light

Galatians 5:25 ESV If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.

Galatians 2:20 ESV I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Walking in Love, and mercy and forgiveness.

LIFE COACHING SESSIONS

LESSON POINTS

Walk in the Spirit: Holy Spirit

Dr. Jerry Papalii teaches on spiritually conditioning our spirit to become victorious in life’s challenges, fulfilling our purpose in Christ Jesus.

Holy Spirit

Born of the Spirit:

“Unless one is born of…the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God” (John 3:5). Live/Walk by the Spirit: “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing” (John 6:63).

1. My focus today is to show you how you can Spiritually Conditioning your spirit man to be strong and to know the voice of the Holy Spirit.

2. One major truth and secret of success in destiny I must not fail to tell you is that the strength and condition of your spirit man is what will determine how far you will go in the things of God.

3. If you do not pay attention to your spirit man and develop/condition it, you will not go too far in destiny and the devil will stop you with ease.

4. Very importantly, you must train/Condition your spirit man to

(1.) Keep your body under

(2.) Keep your soul in line with the Holy Spirit

(3.) Follow the Holy Spirit. Negative thoughts can drag us into this wallowing pit of anguish and worthlessness where only Christ can bring us back on the top of a joyful mountain.

Let us look at Philippians 4:8 (AMP) Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart].

Truth is also sometimes defined in modern contexts as an idea of “truth to self”, or authenticity. Authentic:

1. of undisputed origin; genuine.

2. Walk in the light of the love of Jesus. Jesus said that He is the light of the world. To walk in the Spirit is to be following Jesus, for the Spirit speaks of Christ Jesus. The Spirit magnifies the name of Jesus. And the light of Christ is His all-pervasive grace and love. Ephesians 5:8 ESV For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light

3.Feed consistently on God’s word: Read and meditate on the word and hear the word. The word of God is the food of the spirit-man. What natural food does to the body is what the word of God will do to your spirit-man. Can you imagine what happens when you don’t eat for a long time? Your body becomes weak, you can’t see clearly and you cannot even think co-ordinately. That is the same thing that happens to your spirit-man when you do not take in the word of God.

John 14:6 English Standard Version (ESV) 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Receive the Spirit: “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit” (Acts 2:38).

LESSON POINTS

Walk in the Spirit: Spiritual Intuition

Spiritual Intuition

Pray more in the spirit (Jude vs. 20): Praying in the spirit is another spiritual exercise that builds your spirit man. Pay attention to it and do it as often as possible. Don’t limit praying in the spirit to the period of your quiet time alone. You can pray in the spirit while doing some other things.

Romans 8:26-27

26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. 27 And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because[a] the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

Worship in Spirit:

“We are the true circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh” (Philippians 3:3). “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in Spirit and truth” (John 4:24).

Ephesians 2:10 tells us why: “…God prepared [our good works] beforehand, so that we would walk in them.” Any and every good work that we have done has been prepared by God. … All true good works are God-planned, God-empowered, and God-superintended.
